ADVOCATING FOR SOCIAL LIFE
Indra Musiol and Julia Erdmann founded the School of Socialtecture
Socialtecture was founded to challenge conventional approaches to urban design and to create environments that put life, people and community at the center. Our mission is to fundamentally rethink how we design and experience urban spaces – transforming them into places that foster connection, well-being, and a genuine sense of belonging. Too often, we see cities shaped by systems that overlook the needs of their inhabitants, resulting in spaces that feel lifeless and disconnected. Socialtecture exists because we believe everyone deserves places that actively support life.
To encourage a culture of positive change, we launched the School of Socialtecture. It is an ducational platform for exchange, inspiration, and collaborative learning, where people from diverse backgrounds come together to apply the principles of Socialtecture and co-create livable, sustainable spaces.
We explicitly commit ourselves to the values and goals of the New European Bauhaus and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through Socialtecture, we support and promote these initiatives.
