SOCIALTECTURE STORY

"What would life do?“ is the fundamental Socialtecture perspective. It results from decades of questioning why urban developments often fail to enhance our quality of life.

As an intuitive framework and a hands-on toolbox, Socialtecture is the missing link between what we all see in our cities, what bothers us deeply and what we can do about it.  It is for you and for everyone involved in shaping our cities, such as architects, urban planners, city makers and politicians.

2024: Founding the School of Socialtecture

With the School of Socialtecture we train you to envision, design and make places that foster togetherness, beauty and sustainability in times of urgent and complex transformation.  We provide you with 50 years of professional expertise distilled into actionable wisdom.  We all have the key to cities that serve life in our hands. It it: SOCIAL first, TECTURE second.

Indra Musiol
Indra Musiol is a communications expert, innovation coach and entrepreneur. She advances projects, creates co-creative formats for architecture and urban design, manages participation processes and develops strategies for sustainable places. For her, good communication is a driving force for initiating change and embedding new ideas.

Julia Erdmann
Julia Erdmann is an architect by profession, urban design is her vocation. In 2017, she founded JES and established Socialtecture. As an engineer, she develops solutions for complex problems, as a diplomat she translates between different worlds - and as a person who is able to ravel out the most complicated stories, she pursues the vision of shaping the built environment in a different way: with more humanity, more sustainability, more justice, more freedom.
